The Winter holidays are a time for celebrating and a time for giving. Since 1971, La Casa de la Raza has been serving the Latina/o community of Santa Barbara. Hundreds of people attended the Dia de los Muertos celebration. We danced with the Grammy-award winning band Quetzal. Numerous Quinceañera parties rented space in La Casa's historic building.
Each month, over 2,000 people join in La Casa's programs or events. On a daily or weekly basis, our Youth Center offers educational classes and leadership development, and our Family Resource Center provides legal and immigration rights workshops, assistance for our elders, and support groups.
We strive to keep our events and programs free, to make sure that money is never a barrier. But the hard truth is that we must rely on community support to keep our doors open and our staff paid.
We hope that you agree that La Casa is a gem we must preserve. Can you afford $1,000 or more? Will you give $250, $100, or $50? Will you commit $10 or $25 each month? Please donate through our secure website at www.lacasadelaraza.org. Or mail a check to "La Casa de la Raza" at 601 E. Montecito Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93103.
You can also visit us and donate $20 at our annual Mercado Tonantzin and receive a free, limited-edition La Casa bag. The Mercado holiday marketplace offers beautiful handcrafted jewelry and artwork--perfect for gift giving--on Sunday, December 13, 10 AM to 5 PM, at La Casa, www.facebook.com/lacasadelaraza.
La Casa is open to all from 9 AM to 9 PM, M-F. We welcome you!
